Magnolia Grill: Reviews & Ratings
Great food and location! The crab stuffed mushrooms were magnificent! The shrimp and grits are good but soo rich! The frued flounder special was outstanding!
Magnolia Grill in Natchez, Mississippi First off, there was no wait time at all, which was a great start. Parking was easy to find, and it was just a short walk to the front of the restaurant. There is also a side parking lot available, along with outdoor seating, which is a nice option, especially with the river view. The restaurant is perfectly situated overlooking the Mississippi River on the Louisiana side, and we arrived right at sunset. The sky was absolutely beautiful and felt very magical. The host was welcoming and seated us immediately. Our waitress was very kind, informative, and attentive. The restaurant felt homey but still very organized and comfortable. Our food and drinks came out quickly, which we really appreciated. I was dining with my mom and sister. I ordered the shrimp and grits, which were highly recommended on Google and also by our waitress, and they did not disappoint. The grits were very flavorful and easy to eat. They were not gritty or hard to chew like I have had in other places. They were well seasoned, and the sauces that came with the dish were so good, honestly out of this world. We also ordered the pan fried red snapper with a baked potato and cheese grits, the Samburger, and my side was the grilled zucchini. Every dish was absolutely delicious, and all three of us agreed. There was a chalkboard special featuring crab and crawfish bisque, and it was excellent. It was very flavorful and set the tone perfectly before our entrees came out. We also ordered the fried green tomatoes with hollandaise sauce, which were cooked very well with a great crust and great seasoning. For drinks, I ordered the Nutty White Russian, which was made perfectly, and my mom had the pomegranate margarita, which was also delicious. There was also a dessert special, the key lime cheesecake, and I completely approve. I make my own cheesecakes, and it is hard to find a really good one, but this cheesecake was excellent. It had a smooth top layer that paired perfectly with the key lime flavor. The texture was very smooth, and to me, it was very delicious. The top layer on the cheesecake was especially good. This was my first time actually stopping in Natchez instead of just passing through, and I truly enjoyed myself. Magnolia Grill is highly reviewed on Google for a reason. They even stayed open until nine on a Sunday evening, which is rare and one of the reasons we stopped since we were running out of time. I highly recommend Magnolia Grill and will definitely be back. I have already bragged about it to others, and next time I would love to visit during the daytime just to take in the beautiful view in daylight.
We had an early dinner on a Tuesday so no problem getting at a table with a view. Shrimp and grits was good but the grilled asparagus was anemic and no seasoning. There server, Cody came out with an order of grilled zucchini to replace the asparagus because the kitchen was not happy with their asparagus today. Nice touch to be preemptive. My fried shrimp were nice size but way too much breading for me. Side of grits very good. Also we had fried green tomatoes with good hollandaise sauce but the shrimp/crawfish topping seemed like it had been in the steam table too long. Kinda of tough. Nicely breaded but for us too thick of a slice so interior was crunchy.
Magnolia Grill is one of those almost nostalgic feeling riverside seafood cafes. Prices are reflective of a waterfront establishment. Food is excellent quality and decently portioned. Staff is friendly and professional while still feeling welcoming and warm.
This was hands down the best food we had while in town. Everything was scrumptious per my daughter. The location right off the Mississippi River is the perfect backdrop. All the staff were nice and attentive. After dinner we were able to take beautiful pictures by the river. I highly recommend this restaurant and will visit the next time we are in town.
Great little place under the hill. The Shrimp and Grits were so good. The Shrimp was cooked perfectly, not overdone, and the grits --Tasso Cheese grits all with a Creole Meuniere. Very good combination.
great food with great service just ask for fries on side as my samon was swimming in lemon garlic oil. kinda strange for a cook to serve soggy fries with this dish.
I had the shrimp and grits and the bread pudding and both were fantastic. All of the servers and bartenders were super friendly. I’ll be back again next time I visit!
